Guitar Tablature

Tablature, is a quick means of writing music for guitar that is not as complicated as traditional music notation.

Tablature makes for easy study of a piece where chords are readily displayed and correct timing.

To read tabs is very easy. The TAb staff consist of six horizonal strings.

The top line represents the 1st strings, the high E. Going down in pitch, the second line represents the B string, and all the to the bottom line which represents the 6th string low E.

In tab music numbers are added to show which string is to be played, where the number represents the fret to be played.

O is used to show that a string is played in the open position.

Tabs are an easy way to share music with other musician, in a way that doesn't require years of study as in traditional musical notation. Guitar tablature basic reading.
